Readers, Banned Books Week is officially over. I can unwind and discover the next book to cross off my To-Be-Read list. This list has grown to a mile long by now. I want to take you through a day in my life. Today, being Sunday, is a perfect opportunity to take you through a typical Sunday. The next night I’m off work this week is Tuesday.
This early morning, I like to wake up and go into the kitchen. I check what needs to be done. There are dishes in the sink and garbage that needs to go outside. I straighten out my workstation. I also remove the items on the radiator before it turns on in three days. While Zora is asleep, I get started before she wakes up and demands food. She’ll wake up while I’m doing one of two tasks. I am doing the few dishes in the sink, if any. Or I will be cleaning up my workstation.
I feed her. Then, I make myself some food. Afterward, I clean up the kitchen and move on to the main living area of the apartment. I enlist my child’s help in cleaning up and laying out her uniform for school in the morning. She puts her scattered shoes on the shoe rack. She picks up any clothes on the floor. Then, she places them in the laundry bag.
Later in the day, I bathe Zora and do her hair. She still screams when I detangle her hair. I put on a long video on YouTube. Alternatively, I give her her tablet to distract her while I do her hair. Once her hair is styled as I like, I start on my own. I’m eager to return to the salon and have my hair done by a professional. I vacillate between cutting it all off, dyeing it red, and getting sister locs. Maybe I’ll do two out of the three.
Zora doesn’t have school tomorrow, but I do have to go to work tonight. I may shoot a video to go live on my YouTube channel in a couple of days. I’ll also prepare my lunches for the week to take to work. I’m better off going to sleep before I pick her up and start my work night.
That’s it for today! Come back tomorrow to see what I get myself into!
