Day 19 of Blogtober

Today, I woke up to the sound of rain pounding against the window on this fall morning. It got me thinking that since winter is coming fast, I’ll share with you what I’m doing to prepare the apartment, myself, and Zora for the rest of this season and winter.

I had Zora try on her snow boots and asked her if they felt tight around her toes. She did say one of them felt tight, so I told her I’ll get her a new pair of snow boots, and I’ll get a pair as well. I do have to buy some shoes for work as well. I’m on my feet for eight hours a day, and my feet need to be comfortable.

I am taking all of the winter gear to the laundromat to get it washed. The coats are going to the dry cleaners that Zora can fit; the others are going into the giveaway pile. I have to buy myself a new jacket to add to my arsenal. I have one long coat, and that’s reserved for when it’s 20 degrees or lower. It’ll come in handy when I get off work and the cold wind comes off the lake.

My blankets are clean, and I want to get more soon. I covered up the air conditioner with plastic sheeting so that the cracks won’t blow into the apartment. I have stocked up on a lot of items I’m going to need, because I’m not going out in the cold and snow to get them. I even had the apartment exterminated, and placed glue traps in areas where critters and rodents may come in and disrespect my home.

That’s it for today. I’ll see you tomorrow!
