Day 21 of Blogtober

I decided to write a series. This idea originated from a short story I wrote about two and a half years ago. I added a diabolical ending to the short story, which gave my fellow writer friend the equally diabolical idea of me to expand the story. I developed the story to have about fourteen chapters, then I switched gears: the novella!

My friend Ray is working on a series, and he published a novella to anticipate the release of his first book, Queen of Darkness: Book One. So far, he has about seven books in his series that he wants to get done. I’m trying to get the novella written. I provided a detailed explanation in the post written on October 6th about my writing process for the series. This time, the novella takes place during the turbulent time between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve. I have four chapters, and I am currently working on two of them. I plan to release this story next November, just in time for the holiday shopping season.

I have a meeting with a graphic designer coming up soon, to discuss how I want the cover to look. From our initial meeting, we did come up with police tape as a way for continuity in the series. I need to share the cover idea for the next book, which will follow the novella. All I’m going to say is wedding cake topper and handcuffs.

That’s it for now. I’ll see you tomorrow!
