Hello readers! While the site was in maintenance mode, I have been busy planning ways to revamp it and developing ideas to generate revenue and turn it into a profitable business. I’ve come up with some ideas, but they are preliminary.
The first thing I did was brainstorm ideas to gather emails, something I can offer for free, start a monthly newsletter, and consider physical/digital products to sell, as well as other miscellaneous items. I haven’t made a final decision on that yet. I’m creating a printable blogging resource packet that includes everything I use, as I’ve had success with it, and these are the tools I use consistently. I will not gatekeep the tools I utilize, and I posted the link in the description of my YouTube videos.
Another thing I did was shoot a video introducing myself and the site. I talk about who I am and my purpose for the site. I share how I started blogging, why I began writing, and the insights it provided into psychology and human nature as a stutterer living on Chicago’s Far West Side. The home page has been updated, and you can watch the video when you visit the home page.
Another thing I did on the home page was add my social media feeds. Instagram, YouTube, and X are the top three I have for those who want to follow me there. I also post announcements about Blogtober, Blogmas, and other challenges I am involved in, as well as updates on my current projects. I am working on a book in the urban erotic drama category that is leading to a dark erotica theme for the next three to four books I have on the noggin.
Next, I developed a posting schedule for the articles I write. The current day and time I post is Sundays at noon CST because that’s where I am in the United States. The exceptions I have made are for Blogtober and Blogmas. I have created banners for them and universal ones for the homepage; individual challenges have also been designed. I have separate pages for those two challenges that are still available to read.
I added a store here. That page is still under construction, as I am having the first draft of my upcoming book edited and awaiting my editor’s feedback on what I need to fix before proceeding with another round of revisions and rewrites, if needed. The goal is to get the book published and hopefully in stores. I have an indie press, and need to get it off the ground. Once I have things sorted out, I will announce it.
Speaking of which, I did get an LLC and an EIN for the site. I need to set up a business bank account and other necessary items to prepare for officially opening the business. I can run until this side hustle generates more income than I earn in a month. The short-term goal is to consistently earn $1,000 a month through YouTube and my store until I can confidently make it a full-time career as an entrepreneur. In the meantime, I’ll keep my job for obvious reasons.
That’s it for now. I’ll see you tomorrow!
